Jun. 23rd, 2008 10:49 amJust a quick note, to go along with my semi-emo note of earlier. Podcast news: apparently it is not to be, as I managed to record half before the storms came. Now I haven't been able to keep everything on long enough to finish.
This is the part that depresses me some. There's a used bookstore in town. It's been there for the past fourteen years, and you better believe I love it. It's in an old funeral home, and it's pretty cool. (The mystery/horror in the old embalming room, etc. Not that you can tell unless you know, but still.) Well, the owner is retiring. I'd had thoughts before of owning a bookstore, but it looks like this one won't be it. The price is high enough I'd need a thirty year mortgage to buy it. It comes with all the books (there's over 13,000 of them) as well as all the appliances in his upstairs apartment, hence the price tag. Just needed a little venting somewhere, as it has me rather bummed out that it's going to be gone. It was one of the few cool things about this town.
EDIT: My emo day is complete. I have just found out that George Carlin died yesterday of a heart attack. *is sad*
