It happened. Yesterday. My grandfather bought a laptop. I spent about three hours with him trying to walk him through it. I don't think he got it. I know he's going to be calling us asking how to turn it off again...I only went through that about ten times. I'm ranting here since I've been trying not to rant out loud. I managed to be patient with him, even when I couldn't get him to understand how to open the thing. ><^ He bought the laptop, a printer, and some games. I am now free tech support.
Other things...not much going on here besides the laptop. I'm trying to set up a few things, I let everyone know if that works out. Wish me luck. It's not a 'real' job, but it may make me some money.
Computer's been freaking out on me. I rip a movie to my computer to work with it, and the file won't open. Give me an error about not being able to read the memory, or something. If anyone's curious, I've got it written down somewhere. It used to work, which gets me peeved. Tried getting help from the company - they said to update windows and reinstall the program. Tried getting help from a tech forum - and they locked down the thread, claiming that it didn't matter why I was copying the disk it was OMG wrong and illegal no matter why. Got me pissed. Ah well. Gonna keep trying.
Got Sweeney Todd from Netflix (the Broadway version, with Angela Lansbury). Messed up. Even worse when you know Sweeney Todd really existed - not nearly as romantic, just a nutter. (Check it out before you watch the movie or show - try crimelibrary.net) It was freaky, and I couldn't stop laughing. Weird as hell, and seriously messed up. Fun to sing, though - especially when people realize what you're singing about.

LOVETT: It's priest. Have a little priest.
TODD: Is it really good?
LOVETT: Sir, it's too good, at least!
Then again, they don't commit sins of the flesh,
So it's pretty fresh.
TODD: Awful lot of fat.
LOVETT: Only where it sat.
